Meeting people's real needs

David & Debbie Kimani

Kimani

David, Debbie, Daniel and Anya Kimani have been working out in Bujumbura, Burundi for the last 6 years. Burundi went through the genocide in 1994 along with its neighbour Rwanda. As a result the country was destroyed and many thousands of people’s lives were left in ruins.
The Kimani’s work for African Revival Ministries and are particularly involved in two projects:

CRIB (Children Rescued In Burundi) is an orphanage of 48 children aged between 5 and 21. The Kimanis are involved in helping with the children’s homework, taking the children swimming, visiting them at home and spending time talking to the children and just ‘hanging out’ with them, organising birthday parties and many other activities.

The King’s School is a Christian, English speaking school, whose vision is to be a beacon of God’s love, bringing hope, healing and reconciliation to Burundi through Christian education. David is the secondary school head teacher and Debbie is deputy head teacher of the primary school. The orphans from the CRIB home make up 20% of the school’s population. There are 26 different nations represented in the school.
