Meeting people's real needs

12th June 2011 - Phil Morton

I see a rural setting with a river winding and flowing slowly through a field. Everything is very lush and green. There are trees in the field, but one large tree is at the river's edge. The diameter of the tree is substantial (metres across). As I look, I see fruit appearing on the branches of the tree. The fruit is chunky, like extra large pears and its appearance is changing from gold to silver and back again. People are passing through the field and on seeing this fruit are saying: "Wow, look at that fruit! I'd like some of that!" Also, as I look, the branches of the tree are growing and birds are coming and settling on the branches.

I believe that this prophecy is addressed to: individuals, groups and churches. The tree represents the individuals, groups and churches. The wide girth of the tree represents faithfulness over many years. The river is the Holy Spirit who is flowing by in a continuous movement. The fruit is the product of the tree extending its roots deeply into the river's flow. The people passing by represent the great desire for the fruit to be produced. The birds are visitors who come and stay.

I believe that this is an encouragement to faithful individuals, groups and churches to extend themselves anddrink deeply from: the Holy Spirit as He moves and the Bible truth that He illuminates, and to believe that as a result of this much growth and profitable fruit will result.
