New year. same God. new mercies

"The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3: 22-23)

I hope you had a fantastic 2011, for involved with Coign Youth we had some great highlights. We had GuvnaB come to do a gig at the Coign, we had a quality beach day down at West Witterings, we had an awesome week away at Newday, more recently we went for a weekend away to Sunbury Court and then just before Christmas we did our annual Coign's Got Talent.

There's so much that we can look back at and thank God for. Maybe for you as you think back to Newday 2011 or another time you made for the very first time a commitment to God, to follow Him. Or maybe during the year you saw a glimpse of God and made a re-commitment to follow Him with everything you've got.

You know whether you've had a good last year or a bad one, whether you've felt close to God or felt far away, whether you've made friends or lost friends God remains passionately in love with you. You know his mercies for you are new today, His heart beats with a pumping passion for you, that you would know Him and enjoy him.

Before calling you to anything else in 2012 - mission to the nations, inviting friends to Alpha, caring for the person in your class that isn't liked by anyone else - God just wants you. He never stops loving you, never stops pursuing you, even when you turn your back on Him God has paid the price that means His mercies are new every morning.

Will 2012 be a year for you of ignoring God's pursuit of you? Or will this be the year you enjoy the incredible steadfast love, the amazing daily new mercies and the heart of the Father who passionately wants you to know Him.

Praying God's best for you in all you're up to at the start of this year.

Nath
