MK1104sMalcolm Kayes - Lead Elder

Malcolm first opened his tiny eyes to Liverpool's sights and sounds in 1950. Later he taught PE and was a Head of Year in the North-East before starting full time church work in 1984 in Bracknell. Married to Pam with two married daughters, his interests include most sports, music, and reading. Malcolm has been leading The Coign Church since 1991, and oversees the ministry and mission of the church, as well as travelling to serve churches across the UK and overseas.

 

JW1104sJohn Wardill – Elder, Pastoral Care

John has been a full-time member of staff of The Coign Church since September 1994. He oversees pastoral care, Neighbourhood Groups, training, children's work, mission and debt counselling and special needs ministries.  He is part of a Newfrontiers team that serves the churches in Pakistan and Turkey. Previously, he worked for 25 years in personnel, latterly as Head of Personnel with Surrey County Council. John is married to Ann, with three married children and nine grandchildren.

 

TimTim Brown – Elder & Administrator

Tim and his wife Liz will be away as part of a church plant in India until the end of March 2012.

AH1104sAlan Hunwicks – Elder

Alan is married to Beryl with two adult daughters. He has worked in education and careers guidance in a variety of roles latterly as a part time Careers Adviser in a school but is now 'retired'. As an Elder he organises the baptisms and membership courses, and helps with other courses for church members.

 

AB1104sAdrian Birks – Elder, Music & Teaching

Adrian came to the Coign Church in 2005 after leading a church in Fleet for 10 years. He is married to Jenny and they have three school-aged children called Joel, Chloe and Isaac. His responsibilities include overseeing the music in the church as well as having a wider teaching and training role with Newfrontiers which involves travelling to Russia, the Ukraine and various places in the UK. Adrian enjoys reading and music, and supports Norwich City Football Club.

 

DM1104sDavid Maskell – Pastoral Care

David oversees the church prayer counselling ministry to help people overcome difficulties in their lives and grow into all God has for them. He provides oversight for Lifeshapers, Way In, the Bereavement Support Group, Options for the over-60s, and the Cheer Group for lone parents. Before joining the full time staff in 2001, David was Head of Water Engineering for an international civil engineering consultancy. David is married to Tina, with two daughters at secondary school. He also enjoys mountain biking, fly fishing, and playing the guitar.

 

MS1104sNathan Silvester – Youth Worker

Nathan started working for the Coign in September 2008, heading up the Youth Team. After college, he spent a year in Clarens, South Africa, serving a church in youth work and several other areas of ministry. He then returned to the UK to work as a financial administrator. He is passionate about seeing young men and women running for Jesus in their lives and is eager to see Christ's Bride, the Church, built up and taking hold of God's promises. Nathan also loves sport and is a keen and hopeful Tottenham Hotspur fan.

 

CSCassie Schifano – Children's and Schools Work

Cassie has been on the staff since graduating in 2003. Having carried different responsibilities she now works part time heading up our Sunday Children’s work ‘Coign Kids’. She is married to the gorgeous Benjamin and has two little girls, Kiki and Isadora. Cassie fills her spare time, baking and entertaining and loves sport. She likes an adventure and has done the highest commercial bungee jump in the world of 218m!

Cassie is currently on maternity leave.

GA1104sGraham Allen - Evangelist

Graham dramatically encountered Jesus Christ in his life in April 2000 whilst working in the sound & audio industry, and has been at the Coign Church since then.  He joined the Staff as Evangelist in 2010.  Graham is married to Kimberley.  He has a passion for the local church, for seeing people grow in their relationship with God, and helping them share with others the life changing news that Jesus Christ has for all people. 

 

KP1104sKaren Patrick - Office Manager

Prior to joining the staff I worked in Supply Chain Management/Logistics environments. I have always been involved with serving at the Coign and am currently a Neighbourhood Group & Key Club leader, I head up the Coign Operations team, responsible for setting up HGW’s on Sunday mornings and for the past 4 years I have been the camp administrator for Carroty Wood. Away from church I love going out with friends or taking my nephew and niece out, so can often be seen bowling, swimming, at Legoland or just being with them.

 

PL1104sPeter Leach - Church Administrator

Joining the staff in 2010 Peter is the church administrator providing a temporary replacement for Tim Brown while he is supporting the church in Dehli, India. Peter leads the Production team and is also a member of the Operations team. A keen England rugby supporter, do not try to contact him during the Autumn series or the Six-Nations matches in the Spring. Married to Sha with four wonderful children he is now enjoying seeing his grand-children grow and develop!

 

Ben Curry - Children's WorkerBC1201s

Ben's whole life changed in 2008 when he encountered Jesus while driving home. Prior to joining the staff, his career ranged from estate agent to mad scientist to chef. He then spent several years in retail.
He now runs the children's ministry for those aged between three and twelve. He has a passion for seeing children and young people grow in knowledge of and love for Christ.
Ben loves travelling to crazy places and seeing how God is moving there. He also likes a good game of Scrabble and a nice cup of tea.
